The Landmark Tower
The red tower has been loved as the symbol of the City of Kobe for a long period. The Kobe Port Tower is 108 meters in height. It might not be so high as a modern architecture but people feel familiar with this small distinctive shaped building.
The world’s first building to feature a pipe structure, it was nicknamed the Steel Tower Beauty as a result of its unique structure and shape, reminiscent of an elongated Japanese drum, and was awarded a prize by the Architectural Institute of Japan in 1963.
